AUSTRALIA FASHION WEEK Spring-Summer 2013-14 | Editor's Pick: SHAKUHACHI + ROMANCE WAS BORN. The first pick, Shakuhachi, is designed by Jessie White who presented functionnal and feminine silhouettes with floral prints and gelato shades. Key pieces of the collection: the neoprene midi peplum skirt and structured bodice, teamed back with over-the-knee neoprene boots.
What would be the common point between Shakuhachi and Romance was born? The fantastical floral fairytale. Romance was born designers - Luke Sales and Anna Plunkette - obviously pushed it further with their unbridled psychedelia and their hallucinogenic prints.

080 BARCELONA FASHION WEEK | MANUEL BOLAÑO FW2013 | by Robyn Germanese · Barcelona born designer Manuel Bolaño is an example of a young designer who takes risks. For his latest collection F/W2013·2014 Bolaño’s palette is a palatable yellow and white polkadot, black with accents of metallic dusty pinks and sparkly blacks. Maori style facial tattoos, fishtail braids, fringed cuffs, floppy bonnets and bowler hats were the young designers cherry.
If you took the volume, and silhouettes elements from Comme Des Garçons, and Galliano, then added some sad clown, peasant, tramp flavor you will arrive to Bolaño’s dish, which is sure to render him as a potential for the couture status. However, fantastically achieved this collection it is, his dresses, pants, and tops remain wearable, and for any designer it is the bread and butter feeding his more elaborate pieces. Easily this collection is one of Lelook’s favorites from the Barcelona 080 fashion shows.

HAUTE COUTURE | CHRISTIAN DIOR · Spring 2013 by Raf Simons | HIGHLIGHTS By Robyn Germanese. Raf Simons brings spring in all its glory to this exhilarating Dior couture collection. Although I was not in attendance (one would be so lucky) I am sure the room went still when the models walked out. The couture craftsmanship is simply astounding; the beading is done so delicately it becomes practically invisible.
Imploring appliquéd pansies in bright spring colors and trompe-l’oeil accessories in such feminine quality, that the end effect is endearingly innocent. Adding pixie wigs to the equation simply amped up the childlike naivety.
Sequined lips accentuate that the girl is charmed and perhaps resembles glistening honey from a flower, or the moisture of a kiss. Known for its traditions the petites mains at Dior have created quite the Avant- garde collection. Most notable is the draped silver top overlaying the appliqued bustier, or the demi bustier dress, to which one side is contained while the other is left to flutter. To say this entire collection will be coveted is an understatement.

MEADHAM KIRCHOFF Men RTW 2013 Spring | LONDON MEN COLLECTION | By Robyn Germanese | After six years of absence in menswear the U.K. label has crowds oohing and awing. Presenting the collection in a static catwalk style, with the models lounging in chairs, and beds, you can’t help but feel like you are witnessing the debauched day- after party. Androgynous models with technicolor hair and ultra colorful Disney inspired clothing looks part gypsy combining different volumes, and patterns, part Aladdin using harem pants, and motifs, and Kurt Cobain taking advantage of the disheveled grunge vibe. The non- chalant mixing and matching is Meadham Kirchoff’s signature. Why worry about paint on your hands when everything you touch becomes vibrant?!
