GROUND-ZERO is a creative contemporary brand Hong-Kong based established by the designer duo, brothers Eri and Philip Chu, in 2008, with current focus in fashion. GROUND-ZERO’s design inspirations come from everywhere. The design concepts are always conflicting and contrasting. When the duo combines these elements together, they creat a quirky but beautiful concoction.
For the second collection presented during New York Fashion Week, the brothers drew inspiration from various rebellious subcultures and club kids, in particular freestyle motocross, skate culture, Japanese anime/cyber-punk cartoons, and DIY ideology. There were Chinese punk patchworks, embroidered tees, stonewashed hoodies, and distressed denim get-ups with oversized safety pins and tribal add-ons that gave the collection a roguish character.
