Y/PROJECT is a Parisian brand. The Belgian Glenn Martens became the Creative Director of the brand in 2013. He graduated at Antwerp's Royal Academy of Arts. Y/PROJECT’s leitmotifs are fresh looks that are both sophisticated and urban. The designer wants a brand that stands for freedom. In five years, the brand has gone from menswear-only to fifty percent unisex to holding its first-ever women’s show at Paris Fashion Week. Since Glenn Martens took the creative direction, he has rethought the brand taking inspiration into diverse designs, patterns, street and underground cultures.
Distorted proportions and gender-bending silhouettes ruled the runway. Leather and sheer dresses met leather bustier, red velvet turtleneck dress, oversized sleeves, and even short shorts. The silhouettes are bent with belts and the necks support prominent collars.
