Objects Without Meaning was created by Alexandra Michelle with a focus on developing clothing that emphasizes the wearer rather than the object. The focus of each collection is on the simplicity of its materials and the forms they take, designing each piece as a vessel to be filled by the wearer. The brand was established in 2011 after Alexandra Michelle had worked in various roles in the fashion industry for over a decade. The designer chose Los Angeles as the home base for Objects Without Meaning. Each collection is produced in Los Angeles from conception to final product.
For her latest SS16 collection, Michelle answers the question of what to wear with her jeans, offering a steady range of luxurious, collectible basics like silk camisoles, ribbed-knit turtlenecks, and linen T-shirts. She presented minimal silhouettes elevated with comfy, high-quality fabrics, and there are zero prints or embellishments. Some jeans had blurred squares of darker blue, mimicking a patchwork effect, while an A-line, button-front skirt had a released hem.
