Sid Neigum is the eponymous Womanswear label of a Toronto based designer. Sid Neigum graduates in Fashion Design and Apparel Production from Edmonton’s MC College and from the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York meanwhile he was intern for Yigal Azrouel. His first collection was presented in 2011 during Toronto Fashion Week. Sid Neigum received several prizes such as Toronto Fashion Incubator’s New Labels Award, Mercedes-Benz Start Up Award, Swarovski Emerging Talent Award and the DHL Exported program in London, wich awarded him with two fully sponsored fashion shows at London Fashion Week.
Sid Neigum Fall 2017 was presented at London Fashion Week. The silhouettes are geometric and even mathematic as Sid’s patterns are crafted based on the golden ratio. Materials are fluid and often draped or wrapped giving a touch of gracefulness to the looks. The designer used a reduced palette and presented monochromatic garments. We spotted the interesting work done on knotting techniques especially on sleeves and puffed sleeves.
