Taro Horiuchi was born into a family of art dealers in Tokyo. The designer naturally brings the allure of ancient art into the fashion world. After studying English in the UK and a major at Kingston College in photography, Taro Horiuchi moved to Antwerp to study Fashion, where he graduated at the top of his class in 2007, with his collection "Ancient Plastic".
TARO HORIUCHI products include women’s and men’s ready-to-wear, shoes and jewelry. They are distributed mainly at ISETAN SHINJUKU and at BEAMS in Tokyo. He won in 2008 the Diesel Award at ITS FASHION COMPETITION, Italy and in 2012 the NEWCOMER’S PRIZE at MAINICHI FASHION GRAND PRIX, Japan.
The young talent presented his Pre Fall 16-17 during the Japan Fashion Week. The collection is categorized by the use of innovative fabrics, details and simple silhouette.
